Social Programme|
Most of you will know that Trisha Hewetson is the Club's new Social Secretary. We wish her every success and I'm sure that all members will support her whenever possible in this demanding role.
Even before her appointment was confirmed, Trisha was very active in eliciting the views of members through a questionnaire. The findings have now been analysed and form the basis of a developing social programme outlined below. Clearly, the success of every event will depend on the level of support, so please come along whenever you can. Updates to the programme will be added as new information becomes available, so please keep checking this page.

| With over 50 people seated for Christmas lunch on 11 December the event was regarded as a great success. Please keep checking this page for details of the next Sunday lunch. |
Family History, Fortnightly, Wednesday Afternoons  |
| Although the fortnightly Wednesday afternoon hobby/craft sessions have not been well attended, Trisha, an expert genealogist, has usually been busy helping members trace their family lineage. It's therefore been decided to focus these sessions entirely on family history and those interested in finding out more about their ancestors are invited to come along and bring any relevant information with them. The first of these afternoons will be on 18 January, followed by 1 and 15 February; 7 and 21 March; and 4 and 18 April. Meetings will start at 2.30pm and there will be a charge of 50p per person. |

| One-off Events |
Race Night, Saturday 25 February 2012, 7.00 for 7.30pm |
Please add your name to the list on the notice-board for what should prove to be an exciting and entertaining evening for which there will be a £1 entry fee. You can also sponsor a race for £10 and enter the Elegant Hat Competition! The bar will be open as usual, but please bring your own food, perhaps in a picnic basket to add to the occasion! |
